History of jiu jitsu

The exact origins of jiu jitsu are unknown. However, we can trace modern jiu jitsu back to the samurai in 1100s Japan before being introduced to Brazil in the early 1900s and eventually making its way to The United States in the 1970s. As time progresses, jiu jitsu becomes more refined and popular through mixed martial arts promotions such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship and competitive grappling organizations. It has also been incorporated into hand to hand combat training curriculums for military forces and several law enforcement agencies.
